Our story
Annika walked into a music venue on July 9, 2020 and saw a charming man across the room. Immediately, and unexplainably, she knew his name was Jesse. They connected as he was heading out the door, confirming his name was, in fact, Jesse, and the rest was history.
She asked him to coffee for their first date, where there was a painted rock next to their table that said, "Learn to Love Again."
She asked him to watch a movie, she asked him to dinner, and after what seemed like forever, he finally made a move with their first kiss.
Their relationship blossomed amidst a global pandemic, Jesse's different seasons of business, and Annika finishing her term as Miss Kansas and they started the next chapter of their lives, creating a home together in Wichita, Kansas.
Jesse proposed on April 27th, 2024, in an art museum of all places, with his and Annika's family and friends waiting to celebrate back at their home. Amidst pouring rain and a tornado warning (typical Kansas), the next chapter of their lives was cemented with a testimony of their love and commitment to growing and going through life together.
